The County of Dorset (B3073 Christchurch Road/
Hurn Road & A338 Spur Road, Christchurch) (40mph & 50mph Speed Limits) (No.') Order 201'
Dorset County Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to;
[1] to introduce a 40mph speed limit on the B3073 Christchurch Road/Hurn Road from a point 80 metres north of its junction with Hurn Court Lane in a south easterly direction for a distance of 1.6 kilometres to a point 297 metres north of the Marlow Drive/St Catherine's Hill roundabout.
[2] to introduce a 50mph speed limit on the A338, Spur Road Dual Carriageway [southbound and northbound carriageways] from a point 120 metres north of its southbound/northbound off/on slip roads in a south westerly direction for a distance of 1.4 kilometres to the Dorset County Council/Bournemouth Borough Council Boundary.
[3] to introduce a 50mph speed limit on the A338 Spur Road southbound/ northbound off/on slip roads from their junctions with the B3073 in their entirety. Full details of this proposal are contained in the Draft Order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of roads affected and a statement of the County Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at:-
