Essex County Council (Various Roads, Stanway/Birch/Copford) (Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race) (Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018 The Essex County Council (B1022 Maldon Road, Stanway) (Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race) (Special Events) (Temporary One Way) Order 2018
Further to the notice published on 1 March 2018, Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 A-C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport to cover the revised dates for the Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race to commence on 20 May 2018. Effect of the orders:
1. To temporarily close the following roads in the Borough of Colchester: Road Description B1022 Maldon Road, From its junction with Warren Lane to the junction with Stanway/Birch Beckingham Hall Road. Fountain Lane, Birch/ From its junction with B1022 Maldon Road to its junction Copford with Birch Road (entire length). Birch Road/ From the junction with Fountain Lane to its junction with Easthorpe Road/ Rectory Road (northern junction). Boarded Barn Road, Birch/Copford Rectory Road, Birch/ From the junction with Easthorpe Road, generally south Copford west then east to its junction with Hardy's Green. Hardy's Green, Birch From outside property No.2 Stablefield Cottages, north east for a distance of approximately 190 metres to its junction with Birch Road. Beckingham Hall From its junction with Birch Road, east to its junction with Road, Birch B1022 Maldon Road.
2. To temporarily introduce a one way on the following length of B1022 Maldon Road, Stanway in the Borough of Colchester:
Road Description Permitted direction of travel
B1022 Maldon From its junction with Warren Lane east to its Eastbound Road, Stanway junction with the access road to Colchester Zoo, a distance of approximately 604 metres. The restrictions are scheduled to commence on 20 May 2018 for 1 day or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race. The alternative route will be via Maldon Road/Straight Road/Dugard Ave/Peartree Road/Blackberry Road/Church Lane/London Road B1408/School Road/Birch Road/Rectory Road/Easthorpe Road/Well Lane/Easthorpe Road/Lodge Road/ Harborough Hall Road/Maldon Road B1022/Lower Road/School Hill/Birch Street/ Layer Breton Hill/Layer Road B1026/Wigborough Road B1026/Malting Green Road/Abberton Road/Bounstead Road/Berechurch Road/Gosbecks Road. Marshalls on site will permit access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians throughout the event.
The Order came into effect on 4 March 2018 and has been extended by the Secretary of State.
Public Path Diversion Orders 2017
Borough of Colchester Highways Act 1980 - Section 119 Notice of Confirmation of an Order Footpath 16 Stanway
The above Order was confirmed without conditions by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 on 24th April, 2018. The effect of the Orders will be to divert a part length of the public Footpath 16 in the Parish of Stanway in the Borough of Colchester, The diversion is required because the mineral company who are working the quarry needed to divert the path from its current definitive route where mineral extraction is still taking place onto a restored section of land where digging has been completed. A part length of Footpath 16 Stanway starting from Warren Lane at grid reference 59476,22229 and running in a north-north-westerly then northerly direction on the west side of Warren Lane and across the Quarry site for a distance of 790 metres to grid reference 59456,22305 where it connects with Footpath 15 Stanway will be diverted to a new route commencing from grid reference 59492,22275 on Warren Lane and running in a west north-westerly direction along an existing permissive path for a distance of 254 metres to grid reference 59468,22228, and then in a generally northerly direction to the east side of a leachate treatment lagoon and running along the route of an existing permissive path for a distance of 235 metres to grid reference 59465,22306 where it connects to Footpath 15 Stanway A copy of the above Order and Order Map have been placed in and may be seen free of charge at Colchester Public Library and at Chelmsford Public Library, Market Road, Chelmsford during normal working hours. Copies of an Order and Order map are available on request from the Chelmsford Library at a charge. The path is already in use by the public, but any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date below to make an application to the High Court. (King Harold Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of King Harold Road, Colchester in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with Shrub End Road to its junction with Ambrose Avenue, a distance of approximately 670m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th May 2018 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2248224 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Shrub End Road, Straight Road, Ambrose Avenue and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 17th May 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
(Victor Road, Colchester) (Temporary Introduction of One-Way) & (Victor Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Entry) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily introduce a one way in that length of Victor Road, Colchester in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with Artillery Street to its junction with Barrack Street for traffic to go in a northerly direction.
2. To temporarily introduce a Prohibition of Entry from Barrack Road into Victor Road for the duration of the One Way restriction.
The One Way is scheduled to commence on 15th May 2018 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03154539241 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The One way is required for the safety of the public and workforce while communication pipe repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Artillery Street, Kimberley Road, Barrack Street. The Order came into effect on 3rd May 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
(School Road, Copford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Copford in the Borough of Colchester, from a point approximately 460m south of its junction with Allendale Drive for a distance of approximately 80m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th May 2018 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD037SM54575936 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while replacing manhole cover works are undertaken by Anglian Water. An alternative route is available via Birch Road, Hardys Green, Maldon Road, Beckingham Hall Road, Birch Park, Warren Lane, Western Approach, London Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 17th May 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
(Tiptree Road, Messing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tiptree Road, Messing in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with School Road for a distance of approximately 340m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th May 2018 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (BC005CC1W026MAYEA3PDH33A - BT). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while restoring customer service works are undertaken by BT.
An alternative route is available via School Road, Kelvedon Road, Tiptree Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 17th May 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
(Bounstead Hill, Layer De La Haye) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bounstead Hill, Layer De La Haye in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with Bounstead Road to its junction with Abberton Road, a distance of approximately 293m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th June 2018 for 5 days (works between 09:30 -16:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2247188 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Bounstead Road, Berechurch Road, Berechurch Hall Road, Layer Road, High Road, Malting Green Road, Abberton Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 17th May 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bounstead Road, Colchester in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with Berechurch Hall Road to its junction with Bounstead Hill, a distance of approximately 1400m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th May 2018 for 7 days (works between 09:30 - 15:30), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2246690 -Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Bounstead Road, Bounstead Hill, Abberton Road, Malting Green Road, High Road, Layer Road, Berechurch Hall Road and vice versa.
