ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)(a) THE A120 TRUNK ROAD (PANNER'S INTERCHANGE, BRAINTREE, ESSEX) WESTBOUND (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 201

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A120 Trunk Road at Braintree in Essex to enable bridge works to Queensborough Meadows Bridge and routine maintenance to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place in phases over approximately 5 weeks, mainly overnight (8pm-6am) but with some full weekend closures (8pm Friday to 6am Monday) starting on, or after, Monday 4 June 2018, and would be carried out using a combination of slip road, main carriageway and lane closures. A temporary mandatory speed limit would be in force in the interest of safety
The effect of the Order on the A120 would be to -
1. impose for 24 hours daily, a speed limit of 40 miles per hour on the westbound carriageway from a point 5 metres west of Notley Road (Hayeswood) overbridge to a point 180 metres west of Queensborough Meadows underbridge at Panner's Interchange, and

2. close, alternately, the entry slip road from the A131/B1256 to the westbound carriageway at Panner's Interchange - diverting traffic eastbound to Galley's Roundabout then join the westbound carriageway back to Panner's Interchange and continue their journey, and westbound carriageway between the tips of the nosings of the exit and entry slip roads at Panner's Interchange, diverting traffic off the A120 and back on again via those slip roads.

The temporary mandatory speed limit (which would not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles), closures (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, or works vehicles) and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works. The Order would come into force on 28 May 2018 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months or until the works detailed above have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
