M4 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 4 TO 5) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M4 Motorway in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and the Unitary Authority of Slough, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closure of:-
1. the dedicated link road connecting to the westbound entry slip road from the northbound carriageway of the M4 spur road at Junction 4 (M4 Spur Road/A408);
2. the link roads connecting to the eastbound carriageway of the M4 from both carriageways of the M25 Motorway at Junction 4B (M25 Junction 15); and
3. the slip road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the M4 at Junction 5 (A4).
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake inspections, surveys, electrical works, bridge works, carriageway works, drainage works, highway maintenance works and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 5 weeks starting on or after Friday 1st June 2018. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):
Monday-Thursdays 22:00-05:30
Fridays 23:00-06:00
Saturdays 22:00-06:00
Sundays 22:30 - 05:30
The Order would come into force on 30th May 2018 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted via other junctions of the M4. The diversion would vary depending on the closure in place. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
