TORFAEN COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (AS AMENDED) SECTION 14 (1)(b) PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO’S 35 (PART), 36, 37 AND 38 PONTYPOOL TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS ORDER 2018

NOTICE is hereby given that the County Borough Council of Torfaen in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended) intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along:- Public Footpath (PF) No. 35 (Part) Pontypool (Panteg) Community, 85 metres south east of its junction with FP No’s 37, 38 and 41. The section to be closed runs in a north westerly direction for approximately 85 metres to its junction with FP No’s 37, 38 and 41. FP No. 37 Pontypool (Panteg) Community from its junction with FP No’s 35, 38 and 41 and running in a north easterly direction for approximately 195 metres to its junction with FP No’s 37a and 16. FP No. 38 Pontypool (Panteg) Community from its junction with FP No’s 35, 37 and 41 and running in a north westerly direction for approximately 450 metres to its junction with FP No. 129 (Canal Towpath). FP No. 36 Pontypool (Panteg) Community from its junction with Lower Mill/Harvester access road and running in a north westerly direction for approximately 40 metres to its junction with FP No. 38. There are no alternative routes available. The prohibition is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 18 April 2018 and will continue in force for a period of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
