(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council
has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Back Lane, East Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford,
from both of its junctions with Old Church Road to their
merge point near Windmill Farm, a distance of
approximately 370m. The closure is scheduled to
commence on 10th April 2018 for 2 days, or where
stated on a valid permit (EC30034785536 – UK Power
Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works
with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on
www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the
safety of the public and workforce while pole and wire
replacement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via The Common,
Bicknacre Road, The Tye, Old Church Road and
vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 29th March 2018 and may
continue in force for 18 months or until the works have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(West Hanningfield Road, Galleywood)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council
has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of West
Hanningfield Road, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford,
from a point approximately 230m southwest of its junction
with Great Sir Hughes Lane for a distance of approximately
412m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to
commence on 9th April 2018 for 4 days, or where stated on
a valid permit (BC005CM1W0012APREA3RLK07 – BT). The
scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate
signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and
workforce while restoring customer service works are
undertaken by BT.
An alternative route is available via Ship Road, Stock
Road, Stock Road, Watchouse Road, Galleywood Road,
Church Street, West Hanningfield Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 29th March 2018 and may
continue in force for 18 months or until the works have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Wood Street, Chelmsford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council
has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Wood Street, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford,
from a point approximately 500m south of its junction
with Princes Road for a distance of approximately 30m
in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to
commence on 12th April 2018 for 3 nights (works
between 20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit
(EP02231002031 – M Anderson Construction Ltd).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on
www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety
of the public and workforce while construction of new
pedestrian refuge island works are undertaken by
M Anderson Construction Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Wood Street,
Galleywood Road, Stock Road, Beehive Lane, Baddow
Road, Army And Navy Roundabout, Van Diemans Road,
Princes Road, Princes Road Roundabout, Wood Street
Roundabout and vice versa. (Please note the closure will
be night time only, 2 way lights will be in force during
the day).
The Order came into effect on 29th March 2018 and may
continue in force for 18 months or until the works have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hyde Lane, Danbury)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council
intends, not less than seven days from the date of this
notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of
Hyde Lane, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from a
point approximately 82m north of its junction with Dilston
for a distance of approximately 64m in a northerly
direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on
24th April 2018 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid
permit (EC30034785639 – UK Power Networks). The
scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on
www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety
of the public and workforce while switchgear change
works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Hyde Lane, Mill Lane,
Gay Bowers Lane, Copt Hill, Maldon Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th April 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic &
Clearway) (No.3) Order 2017
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council
has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road in the
City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to
this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Stopping’ restriction will be
introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above
lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to
facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating
when the No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Borough Council of Chelmsford (Waiting, Loading
and Parking Consolidation) Order 2009” will be
temporarily amended to include the temporary
‘No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any
existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above
lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and
exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and
Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an
18-month period from 29th March 2018, exact dates will
be specified on http://roadworks.org/. The roads will be
closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the
public. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
Diversion routes will be signed at each location and
residents will be informed of the dates of each phase
via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on
the road.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Pump Lane, Springfield in the City of Chelmsford, from
its junction with the roundabout at Brackenden Drive for
a distance of approximately 125m in a southerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd April 2018
for 3 nights (works to take place between 19:00 - 05:00),
or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2233076 –
Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary
for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or
displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required
for the safety of the public and workforce while high
friction surfacing for zebra crossing works are undertaken
by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Pump Lane, New
Bowers Way, New Bowers Way Roundabout, White Hart
Lane, New Nabbotts Way and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th April 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
