M25 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 17 TO 22) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to:-
1. authorise the overnight closure of- (a) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 20 (A41) and Junction 22 (A1081), and all slip/link roads leading to and from this length; (b) the slip roads leading to and from the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 18 (A404); and (c) the slip road leading from the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 19 (A41).
2. Impose an overnight 50mph speed limit on both carriageways of the M25 between Junction 17 (A405) and Junction 19 (A41), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works, bridge maintenance, inspections and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 4 months starting on or after Monday 23rd April 2018. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):
Monday – Thursdays 22:00 – 05:30
Fridays 23:00 – 06:00
Saturdays 22:00 – 06:00
Sundays 22:30 – 05:30
The Order would come into force on 21 April 2018 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted via other junctions of the M25 or by using the M1, A41, A405, A414, and the A1081. The diversion route would vary depending on the closure in place. The temporary speed limits, closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period. M Taylor, an Official of Highways England Co.
