Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Chipping Norton, Burford Road & The Green
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 5 March 2018
Coming into force: 7 March 2018
This Order is being introduced because of mains gas
extension & reinforcement works which are anticipated
to take until the 29 April 2018 to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit, in 2 phases
any vehicle proceeding in the A361 Burford Road (from Albion
Street to Walterbush Road; followed by Walterbush Road
to Charlbury Road); and the whole length of The Green.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when
the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the
works and for access to premises which are only accessible
from the closed section of road. Local buses will also
be permitted to use The Green.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is:
A361 West Street, A44, A436 Oddington Road (Stow on the
Wold), Park Street, Sheep Street, A429 Roman Road, A424
Burford Road back onto A361 & vice-versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of
18 months or until the works have been completed whichever
