A31 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR FERNDOWN) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order will be to authorise the phased overnight closure of both carriageways oftheA31 between Palmersford Roundabout (A347) and Azalea Roundabout. These measures will be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake installation of automatic traffic data collection sites. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 4 days starting on or after Monday 16th April 2018. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on 14 April 2018 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A347, A338 and the A3060. Local traffic will be diverted using the A31, B3072 and Pinehurst Road.
Access to and from premises accessible from, and only from, the carriageway described above will be permitted by escort. The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
