WIGAN BOROUGH COUNCIL Manchester Road, Leigh -Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Leigh Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 120) Order 2018.
The effect of the Order will be to revoke no waiting at any time on:
- Manchester Road, Leigh (North) from a point 10 metres west of its junction with Kenwood Avenue to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Kenwood Avenue

- Manchester Road, Leigh (North) from its junction with Green Lane for a distance of 15 metres in an easterly direction

- Manchester Road, Leigh (South) from its junction with Green Lane to a point 36 metres east of its junction with Green Lane

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
- Manchester Road, Leigh (Both Sides) from its junction with Green Lane to a point 228 metres southeast of its junction with Green Lane

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wart - To enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident. The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed. A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, between 9am and 4.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday and at Leigh Life Centre on its days and time of opening. Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director - Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/CL48.405 not later than 7th May 2018.
