Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway 22, Bere Regis

Notice ID: MF0267519

Notice effective from
22nd March 2018 to 21st April 2018

Dorset County Council
Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway 22, Bere Regis
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse-riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridleway 22, Bere Regis at the following two points:
1. Grid reference SY 851 937, for a distance of approximately 5 metres;
and
2. Grid reference SY 850 936, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.

The Order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. Originally it came into operation on Wednesday 15 March 2017, but now it will be extended again, and will be in operation until Wednesday 12 September 2018. The Notice can be extended again in due course if necessary. This closure is needed due to the installation of cattle grids making the surface of the bridleway unsuitable for public to use. The closure will be in operation until the Public Bridleway is formally diverted onto the gated
cattle grid by-pass.
Bypass routes have been provided to the north of the cattle grids allowing access along the remainder of the bridleway. If you would like further information about this matter please contact Katie Black (Purbeck Senior Ranger) 01929 424443. For further information about Rights of Way matters, please call Dorset Rights of Way on 01305 224463. Dated: 22 March 2018.
MIKE HARRIES, Director for Environment and the Economy, County Hall, Dorchester, Dorset DT1 1XJ.
