NOTICE
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL CHEAM ROAD (A232), EWELL TEMPORARYPROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2018
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from
entering or proceeding in that length of Cheam Road
(A232), Ewell which comprises the length of road beneath the rail over road bridge known as East Ewell Station bridge and 10 metres either side, atotal distance of 30 metres. Vehicular traffic will be diverted via Cheam Road, Ewell By-Pass, London Road, Malden Road,
Ewell Road and Cheam Road or this route in reverse order.
This Order is required to enable Network Rail to carry out adetailed bridge examination. These works are
anticipated to be completed overnight, between the
hours of 22.00hrs and 05.00hrs, during the three month
period of operation of this Order which commences on
20 March 2018. Advanced warning signs will be
displayed and the temporary closurewill only operate when the relevant traffic signs aredisplayed. Access for
pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be
maintained at all times. No sole access to any property will be affected however access for local residents and
businesses,including emergencyservices, will be
maintainedvia the signed diversion route.
