NOTICE OF CONSULTATION ON FURTHER MAIN MODIFICATIONS

West Oxfordshire District Council is consulting on Further Main Modifications to
the West Oxfordshire Local Plan (2011 – 2031) following independent
examination hearings held in May and July 2017.
The Further Main Modifications and accompanying Sustainability Appraisal
Further Addendum Report and Habitats Regulations Assessment are being made
available for public consultation from 22 February 2018 until 9 April 2018
prior to submission to the Planning Inspectorate.
Public examination hearings into the submission draft Local Plan were held in
November 2015 and the Inspector’s preliminary findings were published in
December 2015. These raised concerns regarding the proposed housing target
and the examination was suspended in January 2016 to enable the Council to
undertake further work.
Following this suspension, main modifications to the Local Plan were submitted
to the Planning Inspectorate in March 2017 and further examination hearing
sessions were held in May and July 2017.
During the examination hearing sessions the Council agreed to prepare additional
evidence in support of the Local Plan and following consultation on this further
technical evidence, the Inspector has written to the Council setting out his
thoughts on the Local Plan.
In response to this, the Council has made Further Main Modifications to the
Local Plan which are subject to this consultation. These are described as Further
Main Modifications because they relate to more significant issues. A number of
more minor additional modifications have also been published at the same time
but are not subject to consultation.
How to respond
The Further Main Modifications and all supporting background documents can
be viewed online at www.westoxon.gov.uk/localplan2031
This includes a standard response form that should be used when making
representations.
Key documents including the standard response form will also be made
available at the locations below.
All comments must be received by 5pm on Monday 9 April 2018.

All comments received during the consultation will be made available for public
inspection.
Representations may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified
address of the following matters:
1. The publication of the recommendations of the person appointed
to carry out an independent examination of the Local Plan under
Section 20 of the Act
2. The adoption of the Local Plan.
