A34 TRUNK ROAD (EAST ILSLEY TO MARCHAM)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise:-
1. the overnight closure of -

(a) the southbound carriageway of the A34 between Milton Interchange (A4130) and Chilton Interchange (A4185), and all slip roads leading to and from this length;

(b) the northbound carriageway of the A34 between Chilton Interchange (A4185) and Marcham Interchange (A415), and all slip roads leading to and from this length;

(c) the roads leading to and from the southbound carriageway of the A34 at West Ilsley Interchange;

(d) the roads leading to and from the southbound carriageway of the A34 at Berkshire Downs Service Station, near West Ilsley Interchange;

(e) the road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A34 at East Ilsley Interchange

2. the 24-hour closure of any layby adjacent to the carriageways described in 1. (a) and (b) above.

These measures are in the interests of road
safety while contractors undertake carriageway
works, installation of weather station, removal
of redundant equipment cabinets, structural
inspections and a associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for
approximately 5 weeks starting on or after
Monday 26 February 2018. The overnight
closures will take place between 21:00 and
06:00 (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on
24 February 2018 and have a maximum
duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted
using other junctions of the A34 and via the
A338, A417, A420, A4130 and the A4185.
The diversion route will vary depending on the
closure in force.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained by escort.
