(Public Footpath Atherton No.66,67,68 (Part)
(Temporary Diversion) Order 2018 Notice of Proposals NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director of Infrastructure & Regulatory Services -Places Directorate of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough Council (Public Footpath Atherton No. 66. 67,68 (part))fTemporary Diversion) Order 2018. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable to use Public Footpath Atherton No.66 approximately 55 metres south from Hope Fold Avenue at point A on the map at grid reference 366752 402533, in an easterly direction for approximately 80 metres to point B on the map at grid reference 366830 402526. Public Footpath Atherton No. 67 will be closed from point B on the map for approximately 95 metres in a south westerly direction to point C on the map at grid reference 366741 402501. The section of footpath Atherton No.68 to be closed is that from its junction with public footpath Atherton No.66 and 67 at point B on the map for approximately 145 metres in a south easterly direction to point D on the map at grid reference 366960 402469, approximately 55 metres from its junction with Bee Fold Lane. The alternative route commences at point A on the map at grid reference 366752 402533 and heads south west past point C for a distance of approximately 50 metres in total to approximate grid reference 366738 402495. From here the alternative route runs east south east for a distance of approximately 265 metres before heading generally north for approximately 60 metres to point D at grid reference 366960 402469, where public footpath Atherton No.68 continues east to Bee Fold Lane. These footpaths will be closed for a period of six months commencing on Thursday 8th March 2018 to safeguard the public from the proposed development on site.
