Temporary Traffic Management Order, West Walks Road, Dorchester

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. The Order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The Order will come into effect, on the 5 March 2018, and will be in place until the 11 May 2018. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This order will enable Dorchester Town Council to construct new tennis courts on the old bowling green in the Borough Gardens.

The effect of the order is as follows;

[1] To impose a temporary parking suspension for all bays on West Walks Road, between 0900 and 1630 Monday to Friday.

[2] To impose a temporary road closure on West Walks Road adjacent to the

existing tennis courts to the junction of Bowling Alley Walks.
