Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No.62 Christchurch

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians, will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath No 62 from grid reference SZ15789315, to grid reference SZ15789321.

The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 22nd February 2018 for a period of 26 weeks, until 21st August 2018. But it can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. This closure is needed because of a bridge in disrepair - to be replaced with a new structure at earliest opportunity.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Due to surrounding watercourses there is no formalised alternative route.
