Temporary Closure of Victoria Avenue, Swanage
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Victoria Avenue, Swanage between its junctions with Herston Cross and Rempstone Road, a distance of approximately 1350 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on Monday 19 February 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 02 March 2018. Please note that the works will take place overnight (2I.00hrs - 06.00hrs), weekdays only. The road will be open at all other times. This order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
