FAR MOOR COMMON

Ribble Rivers Trust has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on FAR MOOR Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The proposed works are: Erect 395m of sheep netting fencing along the top of the very steep slope that goes down to the River Ribble banking. The area between the fence line and the river’s edge (1 ha) will then be planted with native deciduous trees. The fencing will be located in the south east corner of the common. The 1.2m high fencing, including two gates, will exclude stock from the banking and prevent the farmer losing further stock on the steep slope. The planted trees will improve biodiversity and help stop river erosion and land slippage of the area. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Knight Stainforth Hall Caravan Park, Little Stainforth, Settle, North Yorkshire, BD24 0DP during normal office hours until 8th. November 2015. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents may be obtained by writing to Ribble Rivers Trust c/o Hanson Cement, Ribblesdale Works, Clitheroe, BB7 4QF. Any objections or representations should be sent in writing ON or BEFORE that date to the Planning Inspectorate at Room 3/25B, Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN or commonlandcasework@pins.gsi.gov.uk. Letters sent to the Planning Inspectorate cannot be treated as confidential. They will be copied to the applicant and possibly to other interested parties.
