THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT hereby gives notice in accordance with the Special Roads (Notice of Opening) Regulations 1992 that, for the purposes of section 17(5) and all other relevant provisions of the above Act, the lengths of special road described in the following Schedule will open for use as a special road on the dates stated below.
THE SCHEDULE A1(M) Catterick to Barton Section Route of the A1(M) becoming motorway on 26th February 2018
The A1(M) northbound carriageway from a point 1.3km south of Catterick Junction (Junction 52), in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 6.9 miles (11.1km), to a point 450 metres south of Barton Junction (Junction 56), all in the County of North Yorkshire. The A1(M) southbound carriageway from a point 450 metres south of Barton Junction (Junction 56), in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 6.25 miles (10.05km), to a point 250 metres south of Catterick Junction (Junction 52), all in the County of North Yorkshire. Routes of the Connecting Roads:
(1) Catterick Junction (Junction 52) on 26th February 2018

One route to connect the A6055 County Road western roundabout at Catterick Junction (Junction 52) to the A1 northbound carriageway of the new motorway One route to connect the A1 northbound carriageway of the new motorway to the A6055 County Road western roundabout at Catterick Junction (Junction 52). One route to connect the A1 southbound carriageway of the new motorway to the A6055 County Road eastern roundabout at Catterick Junction (Junction 52).
(2) Scotch Corner (Junction 53) on 26th February 2018

One route to connect the A1 northbound carriageway of the new motorway to the A66 Trunk Road roundabout at Scotch Corner (Junction 53).
One route to connect the A66 Trunk Road northern roundabout at Scotch Corner (Junction 53) to the A1 northbound carriageway of the new motorway. One route to connect the A1 southbound carriageway of the new motorway to the A66 Trunk Road roundabout at Scotch Corner (Junction 53).
One route to connect the A66 Trunk Road roundabout at Scotch Corner (Junction 53) to the A1 southbound carriageway of the new motorway.
(3) Barton Junction (Junction 56) on 26th February 2018

One route to connect the A1 northbound carriageway of the new motorway to the Barton Junction (Junction 56) roundabout. One route to connect the Barton Junction (Junction 56) roundabout to the A1 southbound carriageway of the new motorway.
