Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No.62, Christchurch
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath No 62 from grid reference SZI57893I5, to grid reference SZ15789321. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 22nd February 2018 for a period of 26 weeks, until 21st August 2018. But it may be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. This closure is needed because of a bridge in disrepair - to be replaced with new structure at earliest opportunity.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Due to surrounding watercourses there is no formalised alternative route.

Any person who uses or permits the use of the footpath in contravention of the order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
