TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 25th day of January 2018 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5) and (6).
(1) DENNIS STRET, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Dennis Street, York (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0915hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 5th day of February 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) POPPLETON STATION LEVEL CROSSING, UPPER POPPLETON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Poppleton Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Upper Poppleton (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken that period commencing at 2230hrs on the 7th day of February 2018 and ending at 0800hrs on the 9th day of February 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between 2230hrs and 0800hrs on each night during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Long Ridge Lane, Millfield Lane, A1237, Boroughbridge Road (A59), Station Road and vice versa.
(3) UNION TERRACE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Union Terrace, York between the northern junction with Clarence Street and the projected eastern property boundary line of No. 99 Union Terrace (closed road) during the period between 0001hrs on the 12th day of February 2018 and 2400 hours on the 2nd day of March 2018 (works periods) or at time when highway improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Access to Union Terrace will be possible from the southern junction with Clarence Street.
(4) LOVE LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Love Lane (footpath linking Foss Bank to Cloisters Walk), York, between its junction with Agar Street and a point 40 metres north east of the said junction (closed footpath) during the period between 0001hrs on the 12th day of February 2018 and 2400 hours on the 23rd day of February 2018 (works periods) or at time when highway improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and traffic will be available during the works period.
(5) VARIOUS ROADS, YORK This Order will prohibit, where necessary, vehicles from proceeding and waiting at any time in the whole or in any length of a road listed in the Schedule below (restricted roads) between such times and on such dates during the validity of the Order as shall be determined by the Council in order to safely and effectively carry out carriageway resurfacing works. Relevant times and dates will be notified in writing to occupiers of premises adjacent to those restricted roads not less than 48 hours before the said prohibition comes into effect in that road. The Order will commence on 19th dayof February 2018 and expire on 27th day February 2018 or when all works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic for the respective locations will be signed where applicable/appropriate. It is envisaged that the works at each location will be undertaken between the dates listed in the Schedule below and with the exception of Middlethorpe Grove will be undertaken between 8.30am and 5.30pm during the validity of the Order. In Middlethorpe Grove it is envisaged that the works will be undertaken between 9.15am and 5.00pm.
SCHEDULE
Bracken Road, York

Rosedale Avenue, York between its junction with Carr Lane and the western property boundary of No. 28 Rosedale Avenue

Middlethorpe Grove, York between its junction with Tadcaster Road and the south eastern property boundary line of No. 40 Middlethorpe Grove

22nd February - 27th February 2018
(6) STRENSALL NO, 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2330hrs on 21st day of February 2018 and ending at 0600hrs on the 22nd day of February 2018 (works period) or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
