CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 30th day of January 2018 in respect of each of the locations below.
(1) BISHOPHILL JUNIOR & LOWER PRIORY STREET, YORK This Order continues The York (Bishophill Junior & Lower Priory Street) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2017 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 31st day of January2018. This is necessaryto ensure thatthe nearbydevelopmentworks being undertaken adjacent to the closed footpath can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrian and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on the (i) south eastern side of Bishophill Junior, York between its junction with Lower PrioryStreet and the projected western property boundary of Prospect House, (ii) the north eastern side of Lower PrioryStreetbetween its junction with Bishophill Junior and a point30 metres north west of Fairfax Street and (iii) the footpath linking Lower Priory Street and Prospect Terrace (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1st day of February 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 30th day of April 2018 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. Additionally, the resident parking bays on the:
? south east side of Bishophill Junior between points 17 metres and 27 metres south east of Prospect Terrace,
? north east side of Lower Priory Street between points 19 metres and 29 metres north west form the north western kerbline of the closure position,
? south west side of Lower Priory Street from the north western kerbline of the closure position north west for 25 metres, will be suspended during the works period.
An alternative route for diverted pedestrian and traffic will be available during the works period.
(2) ST SAVIOURGATE. YORK This Order continues The York (St Saviourgate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 5th day of February 2018. This is necessary to ensure that high voltage cable connection works and highway reconstruction works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried outsafely. The effect ofthe Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Saviourgate, York between its junction with Hungate and Whip-ma-whop-ma-Gate (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 6th day of February 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 5th day of March 2018 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in St Saviourgate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is putinto effect. A'No Entry' Restriction will be put into effect atthe following junctions:
? Garden Place at its junction with Carmelite Street
? Hungate at its junction with The Stonebow
During the works period a temporary Taxi Rank (for 12 cars) will operate from the south western side of Garden Place, York. The head of the rank will be situated on the south western side of Garden Place, between points 7 metres and 70 metres north west from the south eastern property boundary line of Telephone Exchange, thereby temporary revoking the 'No Waiting at any Time' and Loading ban restrictions from within that length. No alternative route for the diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
