ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - KENSINGTON STREET, BRIGHTON
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 9th February 2018 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-
(a) The whole length of Kensington Street will be closed to through traffic.
(b) To enable access to be maintained during this closure it is necessary to
Rescind the One-way Order on Kensington Street
(c) To enable traffic to be diverted during this closure it is necessary to suspend the "No Left Turn" restriction at the junction of Sydney Street onto Gloucester Road.
(d) To enable traffic to be diverted during this closure it is necessary to
Rescind the One-way Order on Gloucester Road between its junction
with Sydney Street and its junction with Cheltenham Place. 2.The Order is necessary for the construction of new social housing.
3. Access for pedestrians should not be affected and the alternative route for Kensington Street vehicular traffic will be via Gloucester Road and Vine Street, and the alternative route for vehicular traffic traveling Northbound on Vine Street will be via Gloucester Road and Cheltenham Place.
4. This Order comes into force on 9th February 2018 eighteen months or until such sooner time as the
works are completed.
