(98 CHURCH STREET, DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2018
The Council on 19/01/18 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 490 mtr length of Church Street between its junctions with Stockton Road and New Elvet / Hallgarth Street, Durham to enable carriageway reconstruction works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from Mon 22/01/18 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 1 day. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative Route: from the north eastern side of the closure from New Elvet, south easterly along Hallgarth St. to Mountjoy Roundabout then westerly on A177 to 'New Inn' traffic signals and the junction with Church St. to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa.
