A31 TRUNK ROAD (DORSET AND POOLE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, and the Unitary Authority of Poole, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be, during phased overnight works, to:-

1. impose a 50mph speed restriction on the A31 between points 1000 metres east and 1000 metres west of Ameysford Roundabout.

2. impose a 40mph speed limit on the A31 -

(a) between points 1000 metres north and 1000 metres south of Canford Bottom;
(b) between points 1000 metres east and 1000 metres west of Merley Roundabout;
(c) between points 1000 metres east and 1000 metres west of Lake Gates Roundabout; and
(d) between a point 1000 metres north and Bere Regis Roundabout.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake street lighting repairs, carriageway works and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 9 nights starting on or after
Tuesday 27th February 2018. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 05:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on 25 February 2018 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. The temporary speed restrictions would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
