SECTION 122(2A) LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972 VALLEY GARDENS PROJECT NOTICE UNDER SECTION 122(2A) LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972 APPROPRIATION OF OPEN SPACE LAND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Brighton & Hove City Council (the Council) is intending to appropriate the area of land (the Land) described in the Schedule to this Notice for planning purposes in order to deliver the regeneration of the Valley Gardens area. The Land consists of an open space. A plan showing the Land can be inspected at Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BQ from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/content/parking-and-travel/travel-transport-androad- safety/a-vision-valley-gardens Objections or representations to the proposed appropriation of the Land may be made in writing to the Council, by post to : Valley Gardens feedback, Brighton & Hove City Council, Room 404, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3LS, or by email to: valleygardens@brighton-hove.gov.uk and must arrive no later than 5 pm on 26 February 2018. BRIGHTON & HOVE CITY COUNCIL SECTION 256 HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 VALLEY GARDENS PROJECT NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED EXCHANGE OF LAND FOR THE ADJUSTMENT OF HIGHWAY BOUNDARIES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Brighton & Hove City Council (the Council) is intending to exchange highway land and open space land at Victoria Park, Brighton adjoining or lying near the highway for the purpose of straightening or otherwise adjusting the boundaries of the highways included within the Valley Gardens area and described in the Schedule to this Notice. The Council is the local highway authority for Brighton & Hove and the owner of the open space land at Victoria Park. It is intended that approximately 4,500 square metres of highway shall be transferred to open space and approximately 1,600 square metres of open space shall be transferred to highway, resulting in a net gain of approximately 2,900 square metres of open space land. A plan of the proposed adjustment of the highway boundaries can be inspected at Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BQ from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/content/parking-and-travel/travel-transport-and-road-safety/a-vision-valley-gardens. Any person who objects to the proposed exchange may appeal against it to the Brighton Magistrates Court at Edward Street, Brighton BN2 OLG before the expiration of two months from the date of first publication of this notice. Any person claiming an estate or interest in or over or a charge on the highway land may claim compensation under the Highways Act 1980 section 256(5) SCHEDULE Grand Parade, central and north, Gloucester Place, Marlborough Place, Richmond Place, St Georges Place, St Peters Place, York Place.
