Temporary Closure of Kings Road, Dorchester

Temporary Closure of Kings Road, Dorchester
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along KINGS ROAD, DORCHESTER from its junction with Athelstan Road to the junction with Prince of Wales Road, a distance of approximately 90 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 29th January 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23rd February 2018.
This order will enable Southern Gas Networks safe access to carry out gas mains replacement in the highway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Athelstan Road - Prince of Wales Road

Temporary Closure of Langton Avenue, Weymouth

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along LANGTON AVENUE, WEYMOUTH from the junction with A354, Portland Road, to the junction with Marlborough Avenue, a distance of approximately 120 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 29th January 2018 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12th March 2018. This order will enable Scottish and Southern to safe access to lay a new 33,000kw mains cable. Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 24, 25 & 26 Chickerell
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath 24, 25 & 26 Chickerell, from grid reference SY 6518 8045 to grid reference SY 6529 8006, a distance of approximately 435 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 7 February 2018 for a period of 26 weeks, 7 August 2018. But it may be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This closure is required to allow CG Fry to construct a housing development.
