M25 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 16 TO 15) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Buckinghamshire, the Unitary Authority of Slough, and the London Borough of Hillingdon, under Section 14(1)(a) and14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be, in alternate phases, to:-
1. impose a 24-hour 50 mph speed limit and narrow lanes on the M25 anti-clockwise between Junction 16 (M40 Junction 1A) and Junction 15 (M4 Junction 4B); and
2. authorise the overnight closure of the M25 anti-clockwise between Junction 16 (M40 Junction 1A) and Junction 15
(M4 Junction 4B).
These measures would be in the interests of road safety due to parapet damage while contractors are sourced to undertake the associated repair works.
It is expected that the 24-hour speed limit and narrow lanes would start at 00:01 on Tuesday 13 February 2018. The overnight closures would take place over approximately 14 nights once the timetable has been set and would be advertised. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):
Monday-Thursdays 22:00-05:30
Fridays 23:00-06:00
Saturdays 22:00 - 06:00
Sundays 22:30 - 05:30
The Order would come into force on 11 February 2018 and continue until completion of the works. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the M40, A412, A4 and the M4. The temporary speed limit, narrow lanes, closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the danger and works period.
