ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 38-37 SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY) [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC] ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria, to enable resurfacing works, including the renewal of road markings and road studs, and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.
(a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed limit on all traffic on the M6 southbound carriageway, from a point 1360 metres north of Highgill Bridge, to a point 700 metres south of Lambrigg Park Bridge.
(b) The Order will allow the hardshoulder adjacent to the M6 southbound carriageway, from a point 275 metres north of Highgill Bridge, to a point 700 metres south of Lambrigg Park Bridge to be used as a running lane. A 50 mph speed limit will be in force whilst the hardshoulder is being used as a running lane.
(c) The Order will impose a width restriction of 3.2 metres (10 feet 4 inches) in lanes, as indicated by traffic signs, on the M6 southbound carriageway, as described at b) above.
The restrictions are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 20:01 hours on Sunday 11 February 2018 and ending at 06:00 hours on Friday 23 February 2018. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates until completed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
