Consultation on the Strategic Framework for Imaging Services
The Department of Health would like to invite anyone with an interest in medical imaging services to a public meeting about the consultation on a Strategic Framework for Imaging Services in Health and Social Care which was developed following a clinically led regional review of imaging services in Northern Ireland. Where: Fermanagh House When: Monday 15th January 2018 Time: 18.45 – 21.00 The aim of the review was to develop a 10 year strategy to address the need for improvement across a range of imaging service issues, including increasing capacity to meet future demand and to further improve quality and safety. Timely and accurate imaging plays a vital role in ensuring patients are appropriately diagnosed, treated and monitored. In the four main services of MRI, CT, non-obstetric ultrasound and X-rays there were over 1.5million examinations commissioned in 2016/17. Based on current performance this is expected to rise to around 1.8million in 2017/18. The meeting will give attendees the opportunity to put forward their views and ask questions. There will be a small team of senior policy officials from the Department along with senior clinicians from Health and Social Care who will participate as panel members on the evening. If you are unable to attend but would like to comment on the consultation, you can do so (closing date Friday 22nd January 2018). Consultation documents and information on how to respond can be found www.health-ni.gov.uk/consultations
