The effect of the Order would be, in alternate phases, to:-

2. impose an overnight 50 mph speed limit on lengths of carriageway and slip roads described in 1. (c) and (d) above.
These measures would be in the interests
of road safety while contractors undertake
resurfacing works and all associated works.

approximately 7 months starting on or after
Tuesday 6th February 2018. The overnight
closures would take place between 21:00 and
06:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on
4 February 2018 and have a maximum duration
of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A30, A31, A33, A34, A271, A287, A3090, Main Road, Otterbourne Hill, Otterbourne Road and the unnamed road. The diversion route would vary depending on the closure in place.
The temporary speed limits, hard shoulder running, closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
