(IVESTON LANE, IVESTON, CONSETT) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2018
The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 980m length of Iveston Lane between its junctions with A691 and Stoneyheap Lane/ Lunds Lane, Iveston by reason of carriageway patching works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 22/01/18 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 9 days. Alternative route: from the western side of the closure from A691 south easterly then northerly on Gorecock Lane and Lunds Lane to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
The Council on 21/12/17 made the following 4 Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended:
(CHURCH STREET, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 50m length of Church Street that extends south westerly from its junction with New Elvet, Durham City by reason of new manhole construction andsewerconnectionworkstobeundertaken. Themaximumdurationofthetemporaryclosure undertheOrderis18monthsandisrequiredfrom08/01/18 forthedurationoftheworksanticipated to be 2 weeks. Alternative route: from the north eastern side of the closure from New Elvet, south easterly along Hallgarth Street to Mountjoy Roundabout then westerly on A177 to 'New Inn' traffic signals and the junction with Church Street to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa. (ESSEX AVENUE MOORSIDE) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017 The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 100m length of Essex Ave, Moorside between property Nos 6-24 by reason of carriageway reconstruction works to be undertaken. The maximum durationofthetemporaryclosureundertheOrderis18monthsandisrequiredfrom08/01/18forthe durationofthe works anticipatedto be 14days. Alternative route: via the parallelroadofA692.
(STEPPED FOOTPATH BETWEEN STATION APPROACH AND FRAMWELGATE, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2017 The effect will be to close to all pedestrian traffic a 110m length of stepped footpath between its junctions with Station Approach and Framwelgate (off Millburngate Roundabout), Durham City (and including the footbridge from Castle Chare and links from Highgate) by reason of refurbishmentworkstobeundertaken. Themaximumdurationofthetemporaryclosureunder theOrderis 6months andis requiredfromMon. 08/01/18 andforthedurationofthe works anticipated to be 3 weeks. Alternative route: from the western side of the closure from Station Approach via either the footbridge near North Road leading to Tenter Terrace and Castle Chare, or the steps to A690 and its associated footway leading eastwards to Framwelgate / Millburngate Roundabout to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
(WADDINGTON STREET, SUTTON STREET & FLASS STREET DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TURNING) ORDER 2017 The effect will be to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding as follows: (A) Prohibition of driving on Sutton St. between: (a) the junctions with A690 & Waddington St. in any direction except southwards; and (b) The junction with Bridge St. to A) a) above in any direction except southwards. (B) Making any manoeuvre from Flass St. at the junction of Sutton St., except turning right and (C) Prohibition ofright turn from Waddington St. at the junction of Sutton St., to enable new sewer installation works to be undertaken. The max. duration of the temporary closure under theOrderis 18months andis requiredfromTues09/01/18 andforthedurationofthe works, anticipated to be 28 days. Alternative route: from the southern side of the closure from Sutton St. southwards to A690 then north easterly via A690 then north westerly via North Rd. to the junction with Sutton St. to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa.
However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 5 closures/prohibitions may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
