THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A5074 GILPIN BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that as a result of vehicles using the A5074 as a non-prescribed alternative route during the closure of the A592, the Count/ Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle which is proceeding along the A5074, from making a right turn onto the A590. Vehicles wishing to travel west along the A590 from the A5074 should turn left onto the A590 (eastbound) and proceed via the slip road onto the A6 then via the slip road back onto the A590 (westbound).
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

The Order will come into operation on 2 January 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 12 weeks.
