(VICTORIA ROAD SOUTHEND-ON-SEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ENTRY)

ORDER 2017 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1) Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order to temporarily close that length of Victoria Road from its junction with Shaftesbury Avenue to its junction with Retort Close.

Notice is hereby given

that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order

to temporarily close that length of Victoria Road from its junction with Shaftesbury Avenue to its junction with Retort Close.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th January 2018 for 4 weeks or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The alternative routes will be via Eastern Esplanade, Camper Road, Shaftesbury Avenue, Kensington Road, Northumberland Avenue and Victoria Road and vice versa.Access for Emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained where possible The Order will come into effect on 12th January 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst replacement tidal cover screens are installed n the tidal chamber, which is accessed from this section of road The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016
