Highways Act 1980 Public Path Diversion Orders 2017
On 01 December 2017 Essex County Council confirmed the following 4 orders made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 as shown on the respective order maps.
Footpath 7 Purleigh in the District of Maldon
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert a part length of Footpath 7 commencing from a point at the north western corner of Great Wood, CM3 6RJ at grid reference 58114,20179, proceeding south westerly across the field corner to a point at the field edge at the south western corner of Great Wood (grid ref: 58108,20170), to an alternative route commencing from the aforementioned point at the north western corner of Great Wood proceeding in a south easterly then south westerly direction at the field edge to the aforementioned point at the south western corner of Great Wood.
Footpath 8 Woodham Ferrers & Bicknacre and Footpath 49 Purleigh in the Administrative District of the City of Chelmsford and the District of Maldon
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert:
i) part lengths of Footpath 8 and Footpath 49 commencing from a point in the centre of the grass paddock approximately 30 metres south of Wickhams Farm farmyard entrance CM3 4LY (grid ref: 58059,20214) proceeding in a north, west, then north north-westerly direction through the farmyard between the outbuildings to a point north of the field gate and south westerly of the farm dwelling (grid ref: 58055,20224), then proceeding in a general south westerly direction north of the barns to a point at the field edge immediately north of the footbridge (grid ref: 58052,20222), to an alternative route commencing from the aforementioned point in the centre of the grass paddock proceeding westerly for approximately 10 metres to a point on the western side of the pedestrian gate and paddock boundary at the edge of the field (grid ref: 58058,20214), then proceeding in a general north westerly direction adjacent to the farmyard boundary at the field edge on the western side of the boundary fence for approximately 116 metres to the aforementioned point on the north side of the footbridge.

ii) a further part length of Footpath 8 commencing from a point in the large crop field (grid ref: 58038,20221) approximately 48 metres west of where Footpath 8 leaves the farm track at the end of the hedgerow west of Wickham's Farm, CM3 4LY proceeding south for approximately 40 metres to a point in the same field (grid ref: 58038,20217), then heading in a west north-westerly direction for approximately 157 metres to a point approximately 18 metres east of the field corner hedgerow (grid ref: 58023,20220), to an alternative route commencing from the aforementioned point in the large crop field approximately 48 metres west of the hedgerow, proceeding westerly across the field for approximately 150 metres to the aforementioned point east of the field corner hedgerow.

Footpath 8 Woodham Ferrers & Bicknarcre in the Administrative District of the City of Chelmsford
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert a part length of Footpath 8 commencing from a point east of Folks Wood, CM3 4LY adjacent to the southern side of the small pond approximately 10 metres west of the field boundary (grid ref: 57991,20223) proceeding south westerly across the large crop field for approximately 200 metres to a point in the same field (grid ref: 57972,20215), continuing north westerly for approximately 53 metres to a point still in the same field (grid ref: 57968,20217) then finally continuing south westerly for approximately 30 metres to a point at the field edge adjacent to the eastern corner of Folks Wood (grid ref: 57966,20215), to an alternative route commencing from the aforementioned point adjacent to the southern side of the small pond proceeding in a west south-westerly direction across the large crop field for approximately 258 metres to the aforementioned point at the eastern corner of Folks Wood.
Footpath 4 Purleigh in the District of Maldon
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert a part length of Footpath 4 commencing from a point on the western side of the pedestrian gate approximately 18 metres south west of Hackmans Lane, CM3 6RJ (grid ref: 58133,20239), proceeding in a north westerly direction across the large crop field for a distance of approximately 406 metres to the footbridge across the ditch between the fields (58098,20260), continuing north westerly across the next crop field for approximately 310 metres to the next ditch crossing close to the overhead electricity lines (58071,20274), continuing north westerly
on the north side of the ditch at the field edge for approximately 95 metres to a point on the north side of the culvert adjacent to the Purleigh Parish boundary with Danbury (58064,20279), to an alternative route commencing from the aforementioned point on the western side of the pedestrian gate, proceeding north at the field edge for approximately 60 metres to the field corner then continuing at the field edge in a north westerly direction for approximately 364 metres to the culvert at the ditch crossing (grid ref: 58100,20260), then proceeding north north-easterly at the field edge for approximately 60 metres to the field corner, then continuing at the field edge north westerly on the south side of the ditch for approximately 313 metres to the aforementioned point close to the overhead electricity lines where it continues on the south side of the ditch for 97 metres to a point on the south side of the next culvert (grid ref: 58063,20279), where it then heads north easterly across the culvert to the aforementioned point at the parish boundaries. Copies of the orders as confirmed and the order maps have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Chelmsford City Council Offices, Civic Centre, Duke Street, Chelmsford CM1 1JE and Maldon District Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon CM9 5DL and at Chelmsford Public Library, Market Road CM1 1QH during normal working hours. Copies are available on request from the Chelmsford Library at a charge.
The orders come into force on 29 December 2017, but if a person aggrieved by any of the orders wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 14 December 2017 make an application to the High Court.
(Various Roads, Maldon District) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway) (No.13) Order 2017
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road in the District of Maldon as specified in Schedule 1.

2. A temporary 'No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Stopping restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Consolidation) Order 2008" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force. The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 7th December 2017 exact dates will be specified on http://roadworks.org/. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
