THE A168 TRUNK ROAD
(TOPCLIFFE INTERCHANGE TO
THORPEFIELD INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways
England Company Limited intends to make an
Order on the A168 Trunk Road, in the District
of Hambleton, to enable junction upgrade
works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday
8 January 2018 for 10 months, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to:
(i) close for the duration of the works, the A168 northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at the B1448 Thorpefield Interchange;

(ii) impose at times during the works,

a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A168 northbound carriageway from 1840 metres south of the exit slip road at Thorpefield Interchange northwards for a distance of 2535 metres; and
(iii) impose at times during the works,

a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A168 southbound carriageway from 1700 metres north of the entry slip road at Thorpefield Interchange southwards for a distance of 2349 metres. During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 7 January 2018 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
