ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY PHASED ROAD CLOSURE BLANDFORD ROAD
(INGLESHAM WAY TO THE BOROUGH BOUNDARY NORTH OF SANDY LANE) THE POOLE (BLANDFORD ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations, the effect of this Order is detailed below. From 9.30am Tuesday 2 January to 5.30pm Saturday 13 January 2018. A one-way southbound closure (towards the Port and town centre) except for scheduled buses. Please note that there will be a reduction in the southbound evening bus service. As previously advertised, on Sunday 7 January 2018 and Sunday 14 January 2018 from 7.30am to 6pm there will be a full closure of Blandford Road in both directions between the Port and Rigler Road.
Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the works in due course. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. Residents of the closed section of road will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed works. A diversion will be signed.
The closures are required for carriageway resurfacing.
The proposed Order is effective from Tuesday 2 January
2018 until Sunday 14 January 2018. The Order is operative
for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for
the statutory period of eighteen months if required.
If the works are not completed within the statutory
period the Order may be extended with the approval of
the Secretary of State for Transport
Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in
contravention of the Order will be liable on summary
conviction to a fine not exceeding £400.
