The Council hereby gives notice to invite comments on the following consultation document:
Draft Ham and Petersham Neighbourhood Development Plan
The Ham and Petersham Neighbourhood Forum, as the qualifying body, has prepared a draft Neighbourhood Development Plan for the area in consultation with the local community. The draft Plan sets out a vision and objectives to help shape the future of the area as well as planning policies which, once the Plan has been made, will be used to determine planning applications within the designated Ham and Petersham area.
On 14 September 2017, the Forum has submitted the Neighbourhood Development Plan to the Council. The draft Plan is now subject to a public consultation in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended). The publication period will run from Friday 1 December 2017 until 5pm on Friday 26 January 2018.
A copy of the draft Neighbourhood Development Plan and its supporting documentation are available to view and download on the Council's website www.richmond.gov.uk/ham_and_petersham_neighbourhood_planning and on the Ham and Petersham Neighbourhood Forum's website www. hamandpetershamforum.org.
Reference copies are available for inspection at the following locations during normal opening hours:

What happens next
All responses received will be forwarded to an independent Examiner, who will conduct an examination into the draft Plan. Following consideration of the Plan by the examiner, the examiner may commend that the Plan proceeds to the referendum stage, or may suggest that modifications are needed before it can proceed to referendum.
The Neighbourhood Plan requires a majority 'yes' vote of 50% or more in order for it to be "made" (meaning it is brought into legal force as part of the Borough's statutory development plan).
You can request to be notified of the Council's decision under Regulation 19 (Making a Plan) in relation to the Neighbourhood Development Plan in your representation.
