Traffic Regulation Act 1984 The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham ('the Council'), pursuant to arrangements made under section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 and in accordance with Part 3 of the Local Authorities (Arrangements for the Discharge of Functions) (England) Regulations 2012 with the Council of the London Borough of Ealing and with the Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, and with the agreement of Transport for London on 27th November 2017 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into force on 4th December 2017.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to continue indefinitely the provisions of the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) Experimental Traffic Order and to consolidate the provisions of that Order with the provisions of the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 MPH Speed Limit) (Larden Road) Order 2001, the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 Mph Speed Limit) (Brook Green Home Zone) Order 2005, the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 Mph Speed Limit) (Wormholt Home Zone) (No. 1) Order 2006, the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 MPH Speed Limit) (Consolidation) Order 2010, the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 MPH Speed Limit) (Consolidation) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2010 and the Hammersmith and Fulham (20 MPH Speed Limit) (Amendment No. 3) Order 2013, that is, to continue to impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour ('20 m.p.h.') for motor vehicles:-

(a) in the roads or lengths of roads in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham currently signed on-street as either being in a 20 m.p.h. zone or having a 20 m.p.h. speed limit (that is, the majority of roads in said borough, with the exclusion of certain 30 mph corridors, the Transport for London Road Network and certain boundary roads with non-participating boroughs - for a full list of roads affected please see a similar notice also published on this date in the Hammersmith & Fulham Gazette and London Gazette);

(b) in HAMMERSMITH BRIDGE in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, from its junction with Hammersmith Bridge Road to its junction with Castelnau; and

(c) in OLD OAK ROAD in the London Borough of Ealing, from its junction with Westway to its junction with Uxbridge Road.

3. The 20 miles per hour speed limit referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply to any vehicle being used - (a) by Special Forces whilst responding or making preparations to respond, to a national security emergency; or (b) for emergency service purposes if staying within the speed limit will compromise emergency response times.

4. A copy of the Order which will come into force on 4th December 2017, together with copies of the existing Orders referred to in paragraph 2 above, and any other documents giving more particulars of the Order, can be inspected and obtained during office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made at Transport and Highways, Environment Services, Town Hall Extension, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU.
