THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS AND EASTBOUND ENTRY SLIP ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A590 Trunk Road in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria to enable the installation of new barriers, carriageway reconstruction, drainage works, and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety.
a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed limit on all traffic on the A590 as follows:
(i) the eastbound carriageway of the A590, from a point 30 metres north of the centreline of the southern overbridge at the junction of the A590 and Brettargh Holt, to a point 26 metres south of the centreline of the B6385 overbridge;
(ii) the westbound carriageway of the A590, from a point 635 metres south east of the centreline of the B6385 overbridge, to a point 120 metres north of the centreline of the Summerhouse overbridge.
b) The Order will ban all traffic from the A590, in both directions, from a point 30 metres north of the centreline of the southern overbridge at the junction of the A590 and Brettargh Holt, to a point 635 metres south east of the centreline of the B6385 overbridge.
c) The Order will ban all traffic from the A590 eastbound entry slip road from the junction ?f Brettargh Holt to the A590.
d) The Order will ban all traffic from overtaking on the eastbound and westbound carriageways of the A590:
(i) as described at a) i above;
(ii) as described at a) ii above.
e) The Order will ban all traffic from the following laybys adjacent to the A590 eastbound and westbound carriageways, situated:
(i) eastbound at a point 574 metres north of the B6385 overbridge;
(ii) eastbound at a point 4 metres north of the Well heads Lane underpass;
(iii) westbound at a point 5 metres north of the B6385 overbridge;
(iv) westbound at a point 635 metres south of the Summerhouse overbridge.
Prohibitions (b) and (c) are expected to be in place overnight between 2000 hours and 0600 hours during a period starting on Monday 8 January 2018 and ending on Thursday 8 February 2018. However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed.
Restrictions (a) and Prohibitions (d) and (e) are expected to take place during a continuous period starting at 2000 hours on Monday 8 January 2018 and ending at 0600 hours on Thursday 8 February 2018. However, work may start and continue on subsequent dates or until completed.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A590 and local roads will be well signed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.
