(UNCLASSIFIED 43.20 SEDGEFIELD) (VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2017
The Council on 23/11/17 made an Order under Sections 81, 84 & 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, ("RTRA"), the effect of which comes into operation on 04/12/17 and introduces a derestricted speed limit on (a) Unc. 43.20 -from its junction with the A177 easterly to a point 34 mtrs east of its junction with Unc. 43.20 Old Durham Rd and (b) Unc. 43.20 Old Durham Rd fromits junction with Unc 43.20 St Joseph Swan Rd southerly for 9 mtrs; and a 40mph speed limit on (i) Unc. 43.20 Old Durham Rd from 9 mtrs south of its junction with Unc 43.20 / Joseph Swan Rd southerly to its junction with the B1278.

("RTRA"), the effect of which comes into operation on 04/12/17 and extends the existing derestricted speed liniit on A177 from a point 95 mtrs south east to a point 440 mtrs (previously 135 mtrs) north west of its junctionwiththe Unc. 43.20 OldDurhamRd.

(A177 HOLDFORTH LAY-BY, SOUTH OF A177 / C26 FISHBURN CROSS ROADS) (NO ENTRY) ORDER 2017 The Council on23/11/17 made anOrderunderSections 1, 2 & 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, ("RTRA"), the effect of which comes into operation on 04/12/17 and introduces a No Entry restriction on the A177 (south of the A177 / C26 Fishburn staggered Cross Roads) into the southern junction of the eastern lay-by located approx. 610 mtrs south of the A177 / C26 staggered Cross Roads (Fishburn junction). Full details are contained in the above 3 sealed Orders which may be inspected at Sedgefield library and County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours and via the council website. Any person wishing to question the validity of these Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the "RTRA", or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
