TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 7th day of November 2017 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (2).
(1)ST MARY'S LANE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Mary's Lane, York between the respective south western property boundaries of No.'s 4 and 7 St Mary's Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 13th day November 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 17th day of November 2017 or at a time when gas works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) UNION TERRACE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Union Terrace from the northern junction with Clarence Street to the projected northern property boundary of No. 98 Union Terrace (closed road) during the period between 0001 hours to 2400 hours on the 19th day of November 2017 and between 0001 hours to 2400 hours on the 26th day of November (works periods) or at time when highway improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. In addition the length of footpath on the Wigginton Road elevation of the Groves Chapel Development will be closed between 0001hrs and 2400hrs on the 26th day of November 2017. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Access to Union Terrace will be possible from the southern junction with Clarence Street. A diversion for pedestrians around the footpath closure will be available and signed on the 26th November.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions. For further information please contact highway.regulation@york.gov.uk
