CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 27th day of October 2017 in respect of the location numbered (1) (2), (3) and (4) and made an Order on the 2nd day of November in respect of the locations numbered (5) and (6). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) ofthe Actin respectto the locations listed in number (7).
(1) LOW PETERGATE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Stonegate and Grape Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 1030hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 8th dayofNovember 2017 (work period) or at time when gas works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(2) FEASEGATE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Feasegate, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0600hrs and ending at 1200hrs on the 5th day of November 2017 (works period) or at a time when nearby roof maintenance works being undertaken bycrane operation from within the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) LEEMAN ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of Leeman Road, York between points 10 metres east and 10 metres west of Marble Arch Bridge (closed road) during the period commencing at 2200hrs on the 6th day of November 2017 and ending at 0700hrs on the 24th day of November 2017 or on a date when bridge maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and traffic will be signed during the works period. It is envisaged that:
(a) The restriction on pedestrians and vehicles in the southern tunnel of Marble Arch Bridge will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2200hrs and 0700hrs from Monday 6th November till Saturday 11th November 2017;
(b) The restriction on pedestrians and vehicles in the northern tunnel of Marble Arch Bridge will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2200hrs and 0700hrs from Monday 13th November till Saturday 18th November and Monday 20th November till Friday 24th November 2017.
(4) HEWORTH. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Heworth, York between its junctions with Walney Road and Glaisby Court (closed road) during the period commencing at0930hrs and ending at1130hrs on the 8th dayofNovember 2017 (works period) or attime when works to replace a defective manhole cover and frame being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HULL ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the central reservation traffic lane of Hull Road, York between a point 75 metres east of the projected western kerbline of Pinelands Way and a point 30 metres west of the said kerbline (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at0800hrs and ending at1630hrs on the 9th dayofNovember 2017 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) TANNER ROW, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Tanner Row, York between its junctions with Rougier Street and Tanner Street (closed road) and (ii) the north east bound traffic lane (inbound) of Tanner Row, York between its junctions with the NCP Car Park Access Road and Rougier Street (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 6th day of November 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of November 2017 (works period) or at a time when traffic signal improvement works being undertaken nearby have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Tanner Row is suspended during the period of physical closure in the closed road to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
(7) VARIOUS ROADS, YORK This Order will prohibit, where necessary, vehicles from proceeding and waiting at any time in the whole or in anylength ofaroad listed in the Schedule below(restricted roads) between such times and on such dates during the validity of the Order as shall be determined by the Council in order to safely and effectively carry out carriageway resurfacing works. Relevant times and dates will be notified in writing to occupiers of premises adjacent to those restricted roads not less than 48 hours before the said prohibition comes into effect in that road. The Order will not apply to emergency vehicles proceeding in an emergency nor to vehicles being used for undertaking street works. The Order will commence on 19th day of November 2017 and expire on 1st day of December 2017 or when all works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic for the respective locations will be signed where applicable/appropriate. It is envisaged that the works at each location will be undertaken as listed in the Schedule below.
