(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The Council on 03/08/17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 110 mtr length of Unc. Side Gilegate, Durham between nos 167 & 173 to enable University duct installation works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 06/11/17 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 2 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: via A181 Gilesgate Bank and St Hilds Lane or St Giles Close.
