In October 2001, ttie Department for Education and Skills (DfES) Issued new guidance for measuring the capacity of all schools. This guidance describes the method for assessing the "net capacity" (NCA) of schools and Is now the only technique for determining the AN for schools. Admission authorities may fix an AN for a relevant group that is lower or higher than the NCA method suggests. However, where a proposed AN Is lower Information must be published to give parents the opportunity to object. This notice relates to proposals to set ANs lower than the NCA has Identified.
Following consultation on the AN for schools, the Governing Body of The Wey Valley School, has decided to proceed with the following proposal. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with Regulation 9 (5) of The Education (Admission Arrangements) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2002 Governing Body of The Wey Valley School, intends to sat a AN tor The Wey Valley School which Is lower than the level which has been Identified following an assessment of the accommodation using the NCA method. The proposed AN will apply to admissions to the relevant age group (the normal year of entry) commencing from the beginning of the school year 2019/20 and for any subsequent school year. Details are as follows:
School - The Wey Valley School & Sports College
