CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 20th day of October 2017 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (2) and (3).
(1) MILLFIELD LANE, NETHER POPPLETON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Nether Poppleton Level Crossing, Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 1st day of November 2017 and ending at 0600hrs on the 2nd day of November 2017 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. The prohibition on traffic (other than local buses) at the junction of Millfield Lane and Low Poppleton Lane will be suspended during the periods when the prohibition at the crossing is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Low Poppleton Lane, A59 Boroughbridge Road, A1237 York Outer Ring Road, Link Road between the A1237 and Millfield Lane and vice versa.
(2) HULL ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the central reservation traffic lane of Hull Road, York between a point 75 metres east of the projected western kerbline of Pinelands Way and a point 30 metres west of the said kerbline (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1630hrs on the 9th day of November 2017 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) TANNER ROW, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Tanner Row, York between its junctions with Rougier Street and Tanner Street (closed road) and (ii) the north east bound traffic lane (inbound) of Tanner Row, York between its junctions with the NCP Car Park Access Road and Rougier Street (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 6th day of November 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of November 2017 (works period) or at a time when traffic signal improvement works being undertaken nearby have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Tanner Row is suspended during the period of physical closure in the closed road to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
