Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Ambrosden, Merton Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 16 October 2017 Coming into force: 19 October 2017 Started by Notice: 2 October 2017 This Order is being introduced because of emergency water mains repair works which are anticipated to take until 8 December 2018 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Merton Road as follows: Phase 1: Between junctions of Ploughley Road & Birch Road Phase 2: Between junctions of Birch Road & Chapel Drive Phase 3: Between junctions of Chapel Drive & Old Arncott Road
This Order is being introduced because of emergency water mains repair works which are anticipated to take until 8 December 2018 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Merton Road as follows: Phase 1: Between junctions of Ploughley Road & Birch Road Phase 2: Between junctions of Birch Road & Chapel Drive Phase 3: Between junctions of Chapel Drive & Old Arncott Road
Phase 4: Between junctions of Old Arncott Road and Park Rise
(Each junction will remain open to allow access) Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for police,fire and emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is (dependant on phase & location): Merton Road - Old Arncott Road - Ploughley Road; or Merton Road - road through Merton to New Pond Lane - Fencott Road - Murcott Road - Norris Road - Ploughley Road to Ambrosden & vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
