NOTICE: Winwick/Red Bank battlefield consultation
Historic England is currently considering adding a new entry on the Register of Historic Battlefields for the Battle of Winwick (also known as Battle of Red Bank) 1648, which was the final battle fought in England in the second Civil War.

A public consultation is taking place from Monday 30 October 2017 to Monday 20 November 2017 on the history and details of the battle, which will form the basis of the proposed registration. The consultation report (including a map) will be available on the Historic England website between these dates at: https://historicengland.org/listing/what-is-designation/registered-battlefields/battle-of-winwick-consultation.
