CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 12th day of October 2017 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4) and (5).
(1) MICKLEGATE. YORK This Order continues in force the Order having an expiry date on the 22nd day of October 2017. This is necessary to ensure that Micklegate Bar Renovation works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Micklegate, York between its junctions with Queen Street and Bar Lane (closed road) and (ii) the west bound traffic lane (outbound) of Micklegate, York between its junctions with George Hudson Street and St Martin's Lane (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 23rd day of October 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the29th day of October 2017 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. During the works period an alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
(2) BACK LANE, WIGGINTON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Back Lane, Wigginton (closed road) during the period when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs on the 16th day of October 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of October 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be completed in two phases during the works period.
(3) OSBALDWICK VILLAGE, OSBALDWICK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Osbaldwick Village, Osbaldwick between its junctions with Osbaldwick Lane and Moat Field (closed road) during the period when carriageway reconstruction works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 16th day of October 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 20th day of October 2017 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) LEEMAN ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of Leeman Road, York between points 10 metres east and 10 metres west of Marble Arch Bridge (closed road) during the period commencing at 2200hrs on the 6th day of November 2017 and ending at 0700hrs on the 24th day of November 2017 or on a date when bridge maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and traffic will be signed during the works period. It is envisaged that:
(a) The restriction on pedestrians and vehicles in the southern tunnel of Marble Arch Bridge will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2200hrs and 0700hrs from Monday 6th November till Saturday 11th November 2017;
(b) The restriction on pedestrians and vehicles in the northern tunnel of Marble Arch Bridge will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2200hrs and 0700hrs from Monday 13th November till Saturday 18th November and Monday 20th November till Friday 24th November 2017.
(5) HEWORTH, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Heworth, York between its junctions with WalneyRoad and GlaisbyCourt (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1130hrs on the 8th day of November 2017 (works period) or at time when works to replace a defective manhole cover and frame being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
